Broken needle

Sunday, February 26, 2006
6.26pm

Well…today’s really boring.
I broke a needle in half.
I was sewing the cloth bags that were used for shopping (Plastic bags KILLS) and it was very stiff so the needle broke.

Deb went to church while HY went to a temple so this morning was very VERY boring.
I was actually sitting at the table, sewing, and waiting for a familiar face coming through the gates. I sound so pathetic don’t I?
It gets worst.
I was so bored that I put on my jacket and walked around outside of the house, exploring each corner. When I got in, I laid down on the mattress in the living room and would get up every time I heard the plastic bag rustle. The rustling of the plastic bag which was left by the window really did sound like someone walking on gravel covered ground. I was disappointed each time.
I was so bored.
God, boringness kills you. I’ve eaten so much stuff because of boredom.
Stupid boredom.
I ate a banana, nectarine and an orange for breakfast. Four slices of toast and a slice of cheese. Then finished half of iced coffee drink. Had a bit of mango juice and a small packet of potato chips by the time Deb came in. However, she’s not good influence and we ate carrots and a muffin. She even offered her chocolate covered biscuit to me.
Ridiculous!

Tonight, we’ll go through our practical manual and read some lectures. All the boring stuff.
Ughh...

Tonight I’m gonna make pasta in vegetable soup… you know the pasta that are spirals with soup of Chinese cabbage, carrots, a bit of leafy green vegetables, with chopped onions and egg. If only I have spring onion leaves…
I wonder if the semester starts, would I have time to cook like this anymore?
It sounds so depressing :(

Lee... my korean boy

Saturday, February 25, 2006
7.20pm

The Adelaide Fringe Festival started last night at about 8.30pm…
I didn’t really want to go at first but I changed my mind after meeting a Korean fella. He’s kinda cute too :)

We took the bus. Huey Yeng sat behind me while Deb sat in front. We all had the aisle seats. As I took my seat, I actually thought that Huey Yeng took a seat next to a lady who was wearing a pink shirt, absorbed in her book. Halfway through the journey to the city, the bus suddenly braked and we heard some things crashing onto the floor of the bus. I looked down and saw a red mobile skid right between my shoes with a pen. I picked them up and turned to the lady beside me. It wasn’t hers and I turned around to ask, the lady was actually a guy wearing pink.
He looked at the mobile phone in my hand rather blankly as I held it in front of him. Still, with a blank look, he took them. I felt his fingers gently graze against my palm as I self consciously remembered about my sweaty hands. He mumbled a ‘thanks’ while I turned around to face the front when I realized that Deb was holding out some pens and a piece of folded paper in front of me. It took me a split second to realize that he apparently dropped a lot more stuff than I thought.
“Wow… there’s more,” the lady beside me commented.
I turned around and handed it to him, “Is that all?” I asked him. He stared at my other hand, still looking rather dazed and nodded, “Yes, that’s all.” And so I turned back to the front.
I realized that he had been staring at my metro-ticket that was in my hand and contemplating whether it was his.
He started engaging in a conversation with Huey Yeng. I strained to hear because the way he pronounced English words was different.
I turned around and he looked slightly startled.
I asked him where he was from.
He said Korea.

KOREA!!!

Did you hear that, Sharon??
Yeah, okay… the title of this blog entry already said everything but still…

KOREA!!!

I think I made a reaction and said something before turning around to face the front. Maybe I gushed or gasped because Huey Yeng told me that he was surprised by my reaction and asked why. She told him that I like Korea.

KOREA!!!

After we got off the bus, I saw him come down and he smiled and waved at us. I waved goodbye as he walked past us.
HY then told me that he was here to study English and he was going to the Fringe Festival. Gosh, he was cute. Even Deb said so without me asking.
His name is Lee. I’m guessing that that’s his surname.
If I were her, I’d ask for a full name.
But then, if I were her, I would be all shy and wouldn’t really know how to react.

 He’s cute…
Oh my pretty pretty Korean boy…
He had slightly curly hair which was nice and was tall and lean.

I tried to keep an eye out for a pink shirted guy but there were TOO many people around.

HY said that he takes the same route as us to the city except his stop is 15 while ours is at stop 2.
Maybe one day I’ll get to see my pretty Korean boy again.

I kept thinking about him last night but I’m sure by the end of today, I’d forget him already.

Today, we all went for an Austral-Asian church BBQ at some pretty park and had lots of fun. At first, the five of us (Chiew Lee, Kimberley, HY, Deb and I) were rather unsure when we turned up and saw tons of people huddled under some trees.
Luckily Myra came to the rescue as we started heading to the male toilet to hide ourselves.
Most of them are from Adelaide University.
There were a few cute guys :)
I met a girl called Shelley and oh my gawd…she looks like Alicia and she talks a little like her too!!
Anyho, Deb introduced me to them as ‘Psycho Kid’ and ‘Drama Queen’
-_______-“
Apparently because Deb thinks I’m psycho and a drama queen.
Wonder where the heck she gets all these ideas in her head.
I met Jane Ng who’s doing the same course except she didn’t do twinning so she’s doing her whole course here in Adelaide.
Jane is really small and adorable. I think she’s really likable.
I also liked Shelley and Evelyn
I befriended two girls from Hong Kong as well; Mandy and Tina
Also a Chinese fella, Jien Tung, from Klang as well as a Chinese Indonesian guy, Handy, who grew up in Singapore.
Maximo who was born in Salvador… or something like that but he’s been in Adelaide for 16 years so he’s almost a local.
Yeah, new names and faces… but this is from the church community alone… and there’s a chance that I might not be able to see them again.
But they were really nice people :)

Well… there’s really nothing much to do anymore…
Classes are starting on Monday
*Shrieks*

Q: Am I psycho and a drama queen, Sharon?
a)     Yes.
b)     No.
c)     Sorry, what’s the question again?
d)    That guy’s butt is cute.
Since Jeff sometimes reads my blog, there’s a chance that he might be reading right now. So hi to you, Jeff.
Hope you’ll do great in Canada, aye?

I love you, Sharon.
Do your best in Singapore, the land of kiasu-ness (sorry to all the Singaporeans out there, I’m brutally honest at times)

Remember to always worship me!

my pink ugg boots

5.55pm

I think Paul is kinda cute :)
He seemed rather gay (no, not as in ‘happy’) to me though. Maybe that’s why I took an interest in him. He has a girlfriend though. So he can’t be gay… but he could be bi.

Paul and Micah are the two guys who owns a shop behind our house.
Debra (not my housemate but the deli lady) and her daughter, FYI both blondes, own a deli behind our house. It’s like our whole house is divided into three parts.

So they use our front lawn as their parking lot.

Anyho, the boys are still renovating the place before the shop opens in about a month’s time. I wonder what business they’re doing.
They’re really nice guys and Micah has this really cute lazy dog called “Darty”. Micah says it’s Cantonese. LOL.
I like Paul’s vintage car.
I'll put it up when i get internet at home, k?

Problem was that I didn’t like the fact that his butt crack is always showing. Kinda distasteful.
But he’s quite cute. He’s the short and stouter one while Micah’s big and tall. I think they’re both blondes. Well, maybe dirt blonde.

I’ll take a picture of Darty next time :)

Tonight, the Fringe Festival is starting tonight so we’re going to head to the city and watch the cool acts they have.
I’m not entirely sure what would go on but I’m sure it’ll be exciting.

I can’t believe that it’s going to be March soon.
Summer is ending with little outbursts of rain while autumn is ready to pounce on us around the corner.
I wonder what winter will be like.
I’m so glad I got my cute pink Ugg boots.
I would probably freeze but at least I look cute :)

God, I can’t wait for the internet to be installed here.
I have so much stuff to download XD XD

We attended preliminary lectures on Wednesday and yesterday. They seem pretty hard but they got me all excited and worked up.
I can’t wait to dig into my books and show Adelaide what I’ve got.
I’m scared but I know that I’ve just got to dive into unknown waters and embrace the unpredictable. The House Plan

My Rooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom

My Wall of Love
Isn’t it cute? I made it with postcards… it’s actually a heart shape with faces of people
Deb made me a little birthday greeting so i stuck them in the middle of the heart.

Update 101

:: Thursday, 23rd February 2006 ::
:: 4.31pm ::
I'm currently in my room.
Deb's in the living room, watching some quiz show while reading one of my novels (she sure can multitask cant she? Lol)
Huey Yeng's in her room. Reading I suppose.
And there are two flies in my room.
I don't blame them. They probably find me lovable and wanna be with me XD
Stupid flies.
Next week, we’re gonna start our lectures. We even have a practical before a lecture for a few courses. Weird huh?
Anyho… Soo Hui arrived on Saturday and she didn’t bring a phone
-__________-
It was really troublesome because I didn’t know how to contact her and I had to go round the whole city in search for her address. It turned out that it wasn’t on King William’s Street as her dad told me, it was King Courts
-__________-
I finally found her address after two hours but her place didn’t have any power supply so I offered her to stay over until the power was up.
She still can’t get a mobile phone yet. She wanted the 24month contract with the mobile phone thing but there’s a lot of things to settle before she could obtain it so for now, she has to get a cheap phone upfront and get a pre-paid…
I don’t know how anyone can actually survive without a mobile phone once they’ve gotten so used to it.
I’m so glad that you’re going to Singapore, Sharon.
I wish you all the best.
You’re gonna rock Singapore, aren’t you? With your Sharon-ness.
I’m so gonna put up lots and lots of pictures :)
There are so many things to tell you that I don’t know where to begin.
