A Mother's Smile
A MOTHER'S SMILE
a mother's smile
warm and welcoming
always be grateful
or it might be too late
for those who've lost
a mother's smile
always be grateful
for everyone else
or it might be too late
my mother's eyes
they'd crinkle with delight
through her eyes
i could see the world
through her eyes
i could learn anything
through her eyes
i began to understand
my mother's voice
light and delicate
soft tones envelope me
like a warm blanket
every night before i sleep
my mother's hands
though roughened by rigorous work
has the softest touch
her hands which held me
from the day I saw light
till death tears us apart
To my dearest mother
before it's too late, i shall try to always cherish you
but be warned that I am only human
i will make mistakes, i may forget my promise
but I will try my best to keep it
for all your kindness, all your sacrifices
I can never thank you enough
I can never repay you
I can only weep in sadness
for I've always been blinded
Today light has been shed on me
For you, I will give my best
For you, I will do my best
So that I can give you the best
