Why patience is so important?

Well, I can’t post any pictures up. Not sure why but I promise to fill out the empty slots where the pictures are supposed to be once we get the internet :)
Anyho, guess what happened on Thursday night?
Debra was waiting for her letter from the HSBC bank about her ATM pin. Since the letters go through the front shops; the deli and Paul&Micah’s store, they always have to slide the letters through the metal bars of our front window.
Deb was particularly impatient that day so she went to see if her letters were in the shops. She found hers in a stack of letters in the letter slot of Paul&Micah’s store’s door. She came back and said, “I’m getting my letter” and grabbed two chopsticks.
She asked me to follow her. So I did.
She stuck the chopsticks through the letter slot and that’s when I realized that they were mine.
She couldn’t pull them closer to the slot. And people that were driving by probably thought we wanted to break into the store. I’m so glad that no one called the police.
I said to her, “Let me have a go. I’m better with chopsticks”
But my hands were fatter so I was pushing it even further.
I think she got annoyed at that. I can’t help it if I have fat hands! Hehe…So I told her that we should use the cooking turner instead.
Her face lit up, “Oh yes! I’ll call Huey Yeng now.”
So she called Huey Yeng to pass our cooking turner under a fence beside their store and hid our house.
Deb stuck the turner in and was trying to pull the letters closer when I said, “Hey, could you imagine if you dropped it in and Paul and Micah would come tomorrow to find it?”
And then she dropped it!!!
I couldn’t stop laughing. She was really horrified. I think I squatted there laughing for a few good minutes.
When I stopped laughing, I told her that we should write a note and put it in. She called Huey Yeng to pass us paper and a pen.
We squatted there, thinking of what to say. I was still giggling. I think the drivers that were passing by thought we were druggies.
We wrote…
Hi!!
We sort of dropped our cooking utensil while trying to get our letter.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
VERY SORRY =)
From the girls
I have not spotted my pretty Korean boy anymore. I’m so sad. Sniffle.
Oh, I lost my mobile keypad. Did I mention that? It’s so annoying now because I have to use a pen and it looked like I have a ‘Palm’ instead. Not that it’s bad but it sucks when people realize it’s not a ‘Palm’.
Deb, HY and Thanu bought me a necklace for my birthday. It’s so sweet. It was really pretty.
My birthday was alright. I was happy all day despite losing my mobile keypad. They don’t really sell those in the city so Soo Hui’s mom who’s coming sometime this month will bring it for me along with a box of my things.
I called mom on my birthday too. It was really great to hear her voice again. I really do miss her. I guess I don’t really realize it because I have my friends here with me.
Miss you, mummy…
